Containing de void

The ink drawings constitute an open-ended series within an ongoing independent practice. In these works, the influence of Japanese calligraphy emerges as a form of visual thought: the singular gesture, breath, concentration, and the relationship between mark and emptiness shape the construction of each image. The white of the paper does not function as a background, but as an active space that sustains and completes the form. From this perspective, each drawing explores the possibility of bringing the principles of shodō into a figurative language, understanding the image not only as representation, but as the trace of a state of attention, balance, and presence.
